Have you looked at your personal recommendations over at Last.fm? *Eeek, I am a total geek...* It has been a great tool to discover new music for me over the past few months. Since you have listened to some Elliot Smith and Tori Amos you might also like Jack Johnson, Sufjan Stevens, Imogen Heap and Camille.
