When Maximilien was born he had very little hair. Not even eye brows! As he grew older we could always tell what age the photo was taken based on how long his hair was. Right around 18 months old his hair started to really grow and out came the cutest baby curls.
Since we've been in the US it's been very hot and Max longer hair was slightly unmanageable and always in his eyes. So, while getting ice cream at Baskin Robbins we decided to pop over the hair salon next door and get his first hair cut.
We went in with our baby boy with bouncing curls and out came our Maximilien, I'm-not-a-baby-big boy now.

Maybe it's a little foolish of me to regret cutting off his baby curls but I do hope they will come back again.
WOW you can totally see what he's going to look like as a teenager/early twenties! he's going to be a little stud!! :-)
must be hard to nip those baby curls but maybe your baby girl is going to have some beautiful locks of her own! hope all's well, been thinking a lot about you!!
take care

Aww, I remember Jack's first big boy hair cut...6 mos, no less...but it does really change their looks! Actually, I think this grown up Max is awesome! He looks so handsome in these shots!

oh man- he is a little KID! now. adorable.
We have been debating if we should give O a hair cut (he has no cute curls, takes after mama with straight straight hair) but it does have a cute surfer look, but also totally crazy and scraggly.
I'm not sure if I am ready for him to look like a little boy yet though.
I hope you are feeling okay and that you are finding outmore about what is going on so you aren't so scared. My thoughts are with you!

What a charmer! Max's lighter hair color is quite eye-catching. I have several cousins who are mixed race--50% Asian and 50% White. It's very interesting to see how each family "root" expresses itself. Four of them have White spouses and it's even more interesting to see how this continued racial mixing plays out in their kids. I have to say that, so far, they're all really cute--pimply adolescence has yet to set in. :-)

Il fera tomber des culottes plus tard, c'est clair! Il est vraiment trognon.

Actually I really like it! In fact it makes it seem like he has even MORE hair now. (OK, I know you miss the baby curls though.) But he's just beautiful and will be breaking hearts all over Paris before you know it.

my heart skips a bit when i think about losing all those curls and the frothy blond. but it must be done. :(
hope you are feeling well. still thinking of you and sending good healing vibes.

I think I first started reading your blog when your son was just born; I've read all the touching things you've had to say about Max and all the beautiful photos you've taken over the years. That said, seeing the two photos struck a cord with me because he is such a big boy now!
