I think we are starting to figure things out with Alixe. It had been a long month and half since her arrival.
The time I spend in the shower is probably the most quiet time of my day. And I don't get to take a shower everyday! I am sure the mamas out there can relate.
All I wanted to do today was go right back to bed after my shower this morning... wishful thinking from this tired mama.

Hah! I still shower at night most of the time, unless David is going to be around the following day. It's just too much of a hassle otherwise.

Now that I have come up for air myself after the holidays, I can make you this offer: FREE BABYSITTING so you can get a nap! I can come over any day this week or next, and maybe if I am there to entertain Alixe (I can't feed her but I can hold her and walk her or whatever else she needs) while Mama gets a couple of much-needed hours of Zzzz's. Interested? Just call or SMS me. I haven't wanted to phone because I was afraid you might BE sleeping and I'd wake you up! But I really want to help, and I CAN help if you need it. Just say the word! (Plus you know I am dying to get my hands on that beautiful baby!)

Was just reading your twitts. Sorry you have to deal with that much lack of sleep. I am sure you have already tried almost anything. I figured I would put down a few things that worked out for us:
- white noise: we recorded our hairdryer. It was horrible but it worked.
- any not fully reclined position: like a "transat", US carseat, upright wrapped up in a scarf, stroller not in fully reclined position, etc
- rocking him to sleep in his bed until he fell asleep. We used our hand on his butt and would roll back and forth like you make a play dough log.
- a mirror in his bed attached to the crib bars. He could lay there on his own and 40% of the time he fell asleep afterwards.
- swaddling: wrapping him very tight like a burrito.
Hope something else than time will give you some respite...

I can't even shower alone. I'd lock the door, but my children have figured out how to unlock it from the outside. There is no such thing as privacy any more.
